Best spice I've ever used. Dec 09, 2009
By Andrew Tohmc Insanity spice is perfect on pasta, omelets, soups, rice, and even on meat dishes. It is very hot -- much hotter than crushed red pepper -- so you don't have to use nearly as much spice to get the same heat level. The ingredients panel says it is made from red savina habanero. The taste is a bit sweeter than crushed red and most other dried peppers you've probably had, and I really enjoy the way it complements my meals. I use it on practically everything. You can't go wrong with this stuff.
hot Hot HOT Jul 31, 2008
By David These pepper flakes are not for the faint of heart. They are amazingly hot. Just the way that I like them. Perfect to add spicy heat to any meal -- or to pizza if you're feeling brave!
Very spicy! Nov 12, 2007
By H. Cantrall My husband and son like very hot, hot sauce and go through it really fast. I thought maybe this Insanity Spice would be more economical. It really is, it's very hot in my opinion, but it's perfect for them. It actually looks like red pepper flakes and there's a shaker top or a larger opening to pour out what you need. I highly recommend it if you like very spicy food. It's a good alternative to a liquid hot sauce.

"pepper afficionado"
I first tried this product after purchasing it at a the Fairfax Farmer's Market. I am a dried-pepper-flake afficionado and have tried dozens of similar products over the last 25 years. I have to say that Dave's Gourmet Insane Spice is arguably the best! It is intensely hot without blowing off the roof of your mouth. It has an aroma that comes from the habaneros and is versatile for use in almost any cooking application. I'm very happy to have discovered this product!
